The Field Music

Year round performance activities are throughout Texas as well as neighboring states of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. As the field music serving the Trans-Mississippi Voluntary Infantry Battalion, a Confederate reenactment unit, the group travels to major battle reenactments located in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Tennessee. It also participates in numerous film documentaries, serves as the fife and drum corps for the Texas Buffalo Soldiers, and supports events at numerous Texas Historical Forts sites. Its goal is the preservation of the military field music of the 19th century with authentic equipment, uniforms, instruments, and music scores.
